When I start to feel that overwhelm, I go back to the only place real peace is found — in Jesus.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
The world tells us that balance means doing everything perfectly at the same time. But Jesus reminds us that peace isn’t found in productivity...
it’s found in presence.
When I quiet the noise and spend time with Him, He gently reminds me what matters most. My priorities realign. My spirit calms. And I remember that I’m not meant to carry it all on my own.
One of the most practical ways I’ve learned to find balance is through faith-based journaling. Writing out my thoughts, prayers, and worries creates space for God to speak into them. It turns the chaos into conversation.
Here’s how journaling can help you find balance too:
Try this:
At the end of each day, take five minutes to write in your journal. Ask yourself:
Even a few sentences can shift your perspective and help you find a rhythm that feels sustainable.
Balance isn’t about doing all the things equally.
It’s about giving your attention to the right things in the right season.
Some days you’ll lean into motherhood, other days into work, and some days you’ll need to rest. Through journaling and prayer, you can begin to sense which one God is calling you toward each day.
If you’re ready to start journaling as part of your own balance journey, I’ve created a set of free printable junk-journaling pages you can download and use. They’re simple background papers to help you reconnect with God, reflect on your day, and rediscover peace in the middle of your busy mom life.
You don’t have to do it all perfectly to live in balance. You simply need to make space for the One who holds it all together.
Take a deep breath. Pick up your journal. And let Him meet you on the page.
